Michelle Ameerally

Michelle Ameerally, Owner and Artistic Director of Broadway Kids Studio, has over 10 years of teaching experience in the performing arts. Growing up in South Florida, Michelle studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe, and Lyrical at local dance studios. In addition, Michelle furthered her singing and acting in both school plays and local theatre. Michelle received her Bachelors of Music in Musical Theater in 2001 from the University of Miami. Since graduating, Michelle has performed locally in numerous productions, taught at Actor's Playhouse, the University of Miami's Theatre Academy, and in both the public and private school system. Michelle also privately coached students of all ages prior to opening BKS. Most of these students now continue their performing arts education at BKS.

Michelle has been seen in many equity and non- equity productions in South Florida. Some of her favorite roles include Diana Morales, in A Chorus Line; Topsy, in The King and I; Mitzi in Crazy for You, Dainty June, in Gypsy, and singing with Tony-Award winning composer, Marvin Hamlisch in Palm Beach.

Michelle founded Broadway Kids Studio based on the belief that an education in the performing arts should not be viewed as an extracurricular activity but an essential skill that should be available to everyone. BKS is where Michelle and our talented staff can pass on our passion for the arts to future generations.




David Perez-Ribada

David Perez-Ribada has been working as a professional actor in South Florida for the last 10 years. In that time he has worked with virtually every theatre company in the South Florida area, earning a Carbonell Award for Best Ensemble and being nominated as Best Supporting Actor. David was part of several productions awarded as Best Musical and Theatre Productions. He has also had 7 years experience in teaching acting to children through The Roxy Performing Arts Center in Miami and at Broadway Kids Studio.

David has taught students from the age of 4 to adults. His classes included, but were not limited to, improv, monologue and scene work, and on camera work. His students were involved in the creation of 2 one act plays presented at the Florida Theatre Conference, and have also earned numerous superior and excellent scores through the Miami/Dade County Fair Arts Competition.

David has been an instrumental part of Broadway Kids Studio’s Summer Productions and Annual Recitals.  He also contributes to Broadway Kids Studio’s Star Performers and occasionally offers Master Classes.

Students looking to increase their chances for scholarships or audition based entry into their schools of choice would be wise to use David as a resource through private lessons. His track record stands at a 90% success rate.

Brian Blattman

Brian Blattman was born and raised in Hollywood, Florida. He was a child actor from the age of eight, staring in over sixty productions throughout South Florida.  Brian studied opera at Northwestern University while attending American Heritage School in Plantation.

Brian earned a scholarship to attend the University of Miami, majoring in Musical Theatre and Vocal Performance. He graduated from the university¹s prestigious Frost School of Music in 2004 with his Bachelors of Music.

Brian then relocated to New York to work for Camp Broadway, an organization focused on arts and education. Brian also coordinated numerous workshops and live Broadway events, including the opening and closing numbers in the 2005 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. In addition to Camp Broadway, Brian worked for Waxman Williams Entertainment where he assisted the producers on such Broadway shows as “Woman in White", "Bombay Dreams", and its subsequent national tour. He produced and directed "Leaps and the Net Will Appear", an original showcase in New York City.

Brian also worked with TerraNova Collective where he directed "Beyond the Midnight Horizon". Other Off-Broadway directing and producing credits include "Feeder - a love story", “Surface to Air”, and the award-winning “College the Musical” at the New York Musical Theater Festival 2009. As Assistant Director, Brian worked on the U.S. National Tour of Cameron Mackintosh's "My Fair Lady”.

Brian also founded and produced The Entertainment Industry Expo, the largest trade show for the entertainment business.

Having returned to South Florida, we are very happy that Brian has joined the Broadway Kids Studio family. Brian teaches private piano and vocal students, helps develop BKS’s elite Star Performers and has also writes and directs Black Box Theater productions at BKS. 

 




Gareth Chapman

Gareth Chapman has been involved in the Performing Arts, acting and singing, since he was 5 years old. Gareth has both acted and served as a stagehand in countless shows including Macbeth by Shakespeare, Enter Laughing by Joseph Stein, and The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde. However, his favorite roles include Henry Higgins in Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, Danforth in The Crucible by Arthur Miller, and Hal in Proof by David Auburn.

Gareth has over 7 years of classical singing training by Mrs. Joanne Cartwright; a very well known and talented singer in New Zealand where he lived for 15 years. Gareth moved to United States from New Zealand when he was 15 years old with his mother, and currently lives in Davie, Florida.

Gareth was awarded a top five spot for the English Speaker's Union Shakespearean Monologue Competition for Broward County. This was for his rendition of Puck from A Midsummer Night's Dream. He has also won many other awards for his short stories and plays. He edited his high school's literary magazine (entitled The Knot) his junior and senior year, which won superior awards both years from the National Council of Teachers of English.

His future plans include studying to become a high school level English, Theater, and Creative Writing teacher. He feels very privileged to be living here and honored to be working at Broadway Kids Studio.

 




Shauna Kirschman

Shauna Kirschman, born in North Hollywood, CA, began her career in modeling as the face of Johnson & Johnson appearing on Billboards, Book Covers, Magazines, & Videos. Shauna moved to South Florida at an early age and has spent the past 2 decades training, performing, teaching, and perfecting her passion for Dance.

As a former member of Encore Dance Theatre of Fort Lauderdale’s Danceology Competition Team; Shauna was recognized with numerous awards and scholarships by her peers and professionals. She received a Frank Hatchett Scholarship to attend Broadway Dance Center in New York; an LA Dance Magic Scholarship represented by the Dorothy Day Otis Talent Agency of Los Angeles, and was accepted to numerous summer intensives ranging from Ballet to Musical Theater. Shauna also enjoyed her singing and dancing debut for the pop group “FRESH”.

Shauna was a back-up dancer for the Latin Sensation, Paulina Rubio, and was the original Choreographer and dancer for Latin Pop Artist Sophia Del Carmen Redondo.  She appeared in Shakira’s Pepsi Commercial and took part in a music video as a Dancer and Assistant Choreographer to the world famous Shane Sparks.

Shauna was the Director of the Performance Level Troupe, “Pop Starz Inc.” for about 5 years. She worked with some of the best in the industry including Glenn Douglas Packard, Shane Sparks, Brice Vick, Chuck Maldonado, Wade Robson; just to name a few.

Shauna successfully auditioned and became a finalist in Los Angeles for the 1st season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” She continues to perform as a specialty performer/contortionist for several Entertainment Companies.  In between performances throughout the country and teaching, she continues to grow by attending various Dance Workshops, Master Classes, and Auditions.

Shauna is very pleased to be part of Broadway Kids Studio and to work with such well rounded talent.




Candi DeLauro

Candi DeLauro has been involved with teaching dance in South Florida for over 10 years.  Candi began studying dance at an early age and excelled in the areas of tap, jazz, lyrical, and ballet.  With a wealth of dance experience under her belt and a love for working with children she took on the roll of dance company director for many years. Her dance group performed throughout South Florida.

In addition to dance, Candi pursued her passion for the performing arts as a singer, actress, and model.  She was a member of Vocal Ensemble, Thespian Society, and American Musical Theater.  Candi has appeared in a local independent film and performed in the Super Bowl XXXIII halftime show.

Candi is looking forward to starting the dance company at BKS and believes that Broadway Kids Studio is a nurturing environment for expressing yourself through the performing arts.




Richard Steckler

Richard Steckler, owner of RJS Video Productions, has over 15 years experience shooting and editing video and sound.  In addition, Richard has thought video and sound editing classes, as well as photography classes to students of all ages for over 5 years. He has produced summer camp video yearbooks as well as hardcopy photo yearbooks.

Broadway Kids Studio formed an exclusive partnership with RJS Video Productions to enhance the Studio’s service offerings and classes.  RJS Video produces all videos for Broadway Kids Studio’s promotional spots, recitals, summer camp productions, Black Box Theater productions and showcases. 

Richard is a graduate of the Fort Lauderdale Art Institute where he studied videography and broadcasting. RJS has created a unique brand of editing and their work includes weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, school graduations, recitals, parties and special events. Additionally, RJS has done commercial work for Real Estate Marketing, Restaurant and Promotional Events, Cooking Classes, Celebrity/Pro Golf Tournaments, Speed Boat Racing (Arial Coverage), and Legal.

Richard teaches small group classes through Broadway Kids Studio in video and sound editing. He is also available for private instruction through the Studio.




Barry Tarallo

Barry Tarallo has been a professional, working actor for over 30 years. He is a member of both The Actors Equity Association and The Screen Actors Guild and was a resident of New York City for 19 years. He appeared on Broadway in Grease and Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (original cast/original cast recording); Off-Broadway in The Pirates of Penzance and Play to Win (The Jackie Robinson Story) and was also an original cast member in the workshop production of Baby.

Now a South Florida resident, Barry has appeared in many of the nations top regional theatres including: Ford's Theatre (Wash. D.C.), The Clarence Brown Theatre (Knoxville TN), The La Jolla Playhouse (La Jolla CA) and Actors Playhouse, The Caldwell, Mosaic, Gablestage, The Maltz Jupiter Theatre, New Theatre and Florida Stage right here in South Florida. Barry has been nominated for The Carbonell Award (South Florida's Tony Award) 6 times and has won it twice. He is also a singer/songwriter/musician and the proud father of Emily and AJ.

Barry has years of experience teaching students both acting and private instrument instruction.
